Lockes The Thief was an "ambitious" passion project. Inspired by games such as The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Metal Gear Solid,
and Thief, this colorful, stylish stealth adventure featured an African American protagonist tasked with protecting his land from his old crew gone bad.
I spent 3 solid years during the 2020 pandemic to produce this game. I learned Unreal Engine 5 on my own. I learned Player Controls, including Combat, Health, Stamina
Stealth, and Dialogue. I also learned Ai for NPCs and Enemies. They had pathfinding, patterns, combat, item drops, statistics, variations in enemies, perception (sight and sound).
I also learned about an Inventory System to create items the player could use to heal himself as well as increase his currency with the items he stole, like golden bars, gemstones, and coins.
I also developed a picklock system, making some doors and treasure chests send the Player into a small mini-game when interacted with.
There were other features such as Voice Over Acting, Cutscenes, VFX, A Single Player Sprawling Story, Music, and original Artwork.
Lockes The Thief is a 3D Solo Adventure in the cel-shaded style. It has a small amount of positive reviews and is my first commercial game, found on Steam.
