Loan Sword$man

Loan Sword$man Title Screen

Loan Sword$man is a story about a student who graduated from a predatory Sword School and was hit with Student Loans.
Not really skilled in his field, he can't find a job, so he has to become a Sell Sword, building up his name and money to pay off his loans overtime or face the consequences.

This was a 6 month practice project. The goal was to get cleaner at coding in C++, and indirectly, any coding language.
I took the Ultimate C++ Game Developer Course to do this. The course is over 50+ hours. I spent 1-3 hours a day, sticking to a schedule and dedication in order to finish a prototype.
There is a joke about people who buy udemy.com courses and never actually finish them, I wanted to beat that joke this one time.
I also learned low poly character modeling to make the characters in the game, as well as the weapons.
I used my knowledge of Lockes The Thief to get good at the basics of Unreal Engine Game Development, while learning and developing new techniques, such as:
Picking up different weapons, breaking objects, modular enemies and equipment, currency, VFX, sound effects, and clean modular coding.
The coding of this game is very clean, making it easy to iterate and create different weapons and enemies quickly. I made 3 weapons and 3 enemies are varying statistics very quickly
after making the first iteration with C++ Code and making child classes with Blueprints.

This game is only a prototype for now. Depending on the direction of things in the year 2026, I may make it a full game or move on.
